Lara vs Canelo could be soon.

I don't care about belts to me the alphabet soups had done more harm than good for the fighters, in a perfect world none of those belts will mean $hit and a commission would b responsible for overseeing boxing, a health plan and retiring funds will b available for the fighters and the promoters should b forced to make the better fights and not rob the fighters and the fans, but you would not know about this because you believe Canelo and Chavez Jr are World Champions.

 

I think Canelo is a good fighter. May have not earned the belt like he should have, but im pretty much sold on him.


Chavez Jr on the the other hand will get ****ed up when he fights a descent fighter with some pop in his punches. The man simply gets hit with EVERYTHING they throw at him.

 

Right now Id give a slight edge to Lara over Canelo based on experience alone, but I think its more a 50-50 fight. Id like for Lara to take on Dzinziruk for the belt, rematch Williams, and then take on a more seasoned Canelo. Depending how Cotto looks vs Margo Cotto right now is the top dawg at 154.

 

Lara by ko........noway do canelos people allow this fight to happen.

Come on guys. Lara is good and all but he has weaknesses just like anyone else. Also PW was walking himself into those straight lefts. Canelo is much more polished and will not do Lara the favor of walking into big shots.

You guys are letting the robbery blind you.

In the outside to mid game they are evenly matched. The big difference here is the inside. Canelo has a hell of an inside game and can throw wicked body shots along with quick powerful combinations. What's Lara gonna do when Canelo gets inside and unloads a 4-5 punch combination?? The same thing he always does. Panic and back up in a straight line. Bad bad idea against Canelo.

I dont think a guy who throws 1-2 punches is gonna beat Canelo.

Canelo would loose IMO, can't see his camp making a fight that dangerous, he's too much of a cash cow.

Canelo just has more tools and versatility. He is not PW who will walk straight into left hands making Laras job easy as hell. Also Lara is not going to beat Canelo with 1-2 punches. Canelo throws 4-5 punch combinations with power behind all of them. Lara throws 1-2 with really only power behind the left hand.

Canelo starches Lara in the later rounds like Doc said.

 

We all know the belts dont make the fighter. This is obvious. Just like in MW Martinez has no belt but we all know he is the best. Jr. is maybe top 5 in that weight class.

At 154 it appears to be Cotto, Canelo, Bundrage, Lara, PW and Molina.
This weight class doesnt really have a true number 1 since Cotto just moved up and hasnt faced tough opposition there along with Bundrage. The rest are too young there too. Although i believe in a year or 2 this weight class will explode as there is alot of young talent there.
