If cotto happens to pull it off, I would rather seem him drop the belt and fight Lara at comfortable catchweight . I don't need to see GGG destroy this guy. GGG is 5x stronger than Magarito with illegal hand wraps. On top of that , cotto on GGG resume does nothing for it. Plus it would add more haters to his anti-GGG fan base. In a perfect world , it would be GGG vs Canelo And Lara vs Cotto for Cottos retirement fight!
Cotto vs one of the top US welters at 147 would work. Bradley/Rios winner or Thurman/Porter winner to be specific. I'd like to see Lara vs Clottey since they both struggle to get opponents.
it would definitely be the better fight of the 2, much more competitive. And it might actually be somewhat entertaining as well, wich isn't always the case with Lara for obvious reasons. if it ever happens I hope Cotto won't force Lara to come in at 151
Cotto may be able to take GGG into the deeper rounds, but all he is going to get for that is a sustained beating. GGG would snap Andy Lee in half in 6 rounds tops and I really like Andy Lee.
We've seen him against Jackson until that beauty of a right hook landed again, but he won't survive the early onslaught against Golovkin. If GGG fights carefully as he did against Lemmy I expect it to go 6 or 7, if he just goes after Lee from the start 2 or 3 tops.
I don't have a problem with this. The only reason I'd want to see GGG fight Cotto is if Cotto had the belt. Canelo vs. GGG is going to be a better fight. I think your post is spot on.
By that you mean watch all his televised fights in a row (many hours of fun)... or an actual marathon :!:
