I think that it would be a good fight. Although I wouldn't favor Lara, he could make an interesting fight due to his style and skills. Tbh I hope that Lara will focus on 154 though, really no need to move up. So using your logic, Ward has been ducking Stevenson and Kovalev? Predictable.
you obviously didn't read my post. I said I give him a pass for ducking Ward since Ward is at 168. GGG did sign to fight Chavez Jr at 168 and his team wanted to fight Hopkins as high as 170, but no Ward. I can't really say your ducking the guy until you're at his weight though
Lara went with the more lucrative route and fought the best fighter in his own division. And how come Lara has to go through all these hoops but Gabriel Rosado didn't have to when he was coming up from 160?
:thinkweight classes ever heard of them???bradley would get seriously hurt against triple g.I mean seriously the much smaller ruslan nearly killed bradley.
The key word was "ducking", not the pass. Because using the same logic, Ward is "ducking" Kovalev/Stevenson, but you give him a pass. Is that what you were saying? If Golovkin decides to temporarly move up and fight a 168 contender because of money, is he ducking the 168 champion by your logic?
Because Rosado actually moved up and he wasn't with Al Haymon. Go ahead and say "bu-but Edwin Rodriguez was wit Haymon too n he fought Ward!" Lara is still at 154, so how bad does he really want this fight? You know all of this already, but you choose to be a c*nt.
GGG would destroy Lara in embarrassing fashion that candy glass mandible would crumble with the first slap from Gennady
See my problem is that whenever a Ward fight is brought up, GGG's team and fans say "He's trying to clean out 160" or something similar to that. I perfectly understand that and don't think he's "ducking" Ward, but when he goes and signs fights at Ward's weight class, I raise an eyebrow like "I thought you were cleaning out 160?"
Rosado moved up for the first time vs GGG. If GGG actually accepted Lara's offer, he would have moved up as well. GGG's team already shot him down. Tom Loeffler ‏@TomLoeffler1 15h @MarkEOrtega Lara fights on Showtime and had draws with Vanes and Molina, GGG vs Stevens=high ratings, who watches Lara? Tom Loeffler ‏@TomLoeffler1 3h @RedZone_Moss @MarkEOrtega @Hector_gomez810 Lara fights on Showtime and is Jr Middle, why would he be on our radar? Tom Loeffler ‏@TomLoeffler1 2h @MarkEOrtega Lara should call out Floyd, same promoter same TV and he beats both Khan and Maidana, should be EZ fight to make Oh so Rosado who fights at 154 can get a fight, but not Lara? GGG can fight Mayweather, but he can't fight Lara because Lara's on showtime and at 154....
Having your own management team OK and pursue the fight is not "jumping through hoops". If Team Lara (read, Haymon) had actually send a reasonable offer to fight on HBO (or Monte Carlo, HBO contract did not cover MC fights at the time) then maybe there could be a duck. The way I see it, talking **** on twitter when you have no intention of making the fight is a negative not a positive. How you bring Rosado into the conversation is a complete non sequitur, Rosado's management actually wanted the fight. HBO wanted the fight. (well they OKed the fight, GGG was initially slated to face E-Rod who pulled out of the fight leaving HBO in need of an opponent. E-Rod went on to get whooped bby Ward instead.)
Lara sent the tweet out to GGG and his team. He first wanted to see if GGG was willing to fight before he wasted his time getting Haymon and his team to write up a contract. Tom Loeffler shot the fight down before negotiations could even happen. Why would they send a contract over after they already said no to the fight?
