This is going to be a great fight. Both guys have been avoided and we'll see the winner get a shot at the belt holders at 154.

It's a great clash of styles and should make for an intriguing fight. I wonder if the WBC will give the winner mandatory status and or continue to have Alvarez dance around them.

Lara is pissed and going to be using Vanes as a possible launching pad to get a shot at Canelo.

Sadly, De la Hoya will do his best to make sure the fight doesn't happen

Vanes impressed me so much against Mean Joe Greene, but I concede, I was very high on Joe and I may have simply overrated him.

But I was still very impressed with the way Vanes performed in that particular fight.

That said, even if Vanes fights beyond that level, I can't see him having much success against Lara.

I'm fired up for this fight, and I want to see if Lara continues utilizing that lead hook, which was an absolute work of art last time out.

I'll believe it when I see them in the ring together.

Do you think Carlos will get the Trout fight, and if he does, do you think we'll see King Carlos with a portion of the 154 pound crown?

I think that's his 2nd best chance at a title. :good (with K-9's IBF being a bit easier a target)

I probably agree, but I sincerely believe he could potentially beat ANYONE at 154. Whether he'd get the nod is another matter, but he has one hell of a ring IQ.

I would favor Molina over everyone at 154 in a perfect boxing world with perfectly accurate and honest judges :).

I give Vanes a chance against Lara though he has a very good right hand and Lara is a southpaw.

There won't be any clinic. Vanes is being underrated on this board. He's got some good skills and it's going to be a close fight.

Lara struggled a bit with Hernandez the last time out and I think Vanes is much better than Hernandez.

I don't know that I would go so far as to say he actually "struggled".

I had it for Lara clearly as well (I think I scored it 8-2), but he was certainly frustrated at times. If he wasn't, he wouldn't have grabbed Hernandez and heabutted him.

Anyway, I look forward to Vanes-Lara. Hopefully it's a good fight.
