He could have done so a year ago, but decides to fight much smaller guys. He must not think so. Even in calling out Mayweather and Cotto. He would still be fighting a guy who made the majority of their noise at lower weight classes. You don't have to see it, but we will remind you that he has to start fighting full fledged super welterweights. Not jr.welterweights. It's ok, we know thats your boy, but what has he proven to even be in the ring with someone like Mayweather or Cotto. Although i think he has a good chance of beating Cotto. When he fights 2 guys in a row that have always been super welterweights, you won't here another peep out of me.:good
not going to happen. when you have uneducated boxing fans such as Doc who publically state on boxing forums that they will no support Canelo unless he fights a top ten jmw in his next fight you know that the gig is up. canelo and gbp have to step up. now.
The fight or the war at 154 is Lara vs Canelo and not Canelo vs Martinez or vs Cotto/Trout/K9. Lara was robbed of a decision everybody knew that should have gone his way against PW so and since PW was Canelo's first choice, the second would have to have been Lara and not Ortiz or Lopez.
Vanes did not show up to lose. You know, he was the other guy in the ring. Both men were cautious because of what was at stake. Even though both had a feeling that they would not get to actually fight for the title.
Fans like Doc will support Canelo and LIKE IT, because they will pay the $$$ and GBP knows it. Like it or not, Canelo is a box office attraction due to his looks and fighting style and will make $$$ regardless of opponent. I expect the fight with Sergio/Mayweather/Pacquaio to be 3-4 years away when Canelo is in his physical prime and the big 3 are in their 40's.
Yeah, imagine that. After Lara effectively slowed Vanes down with an intentional low blow he began to come on in the fight. In my book Lara joins Abril as a fighter I don't care to see again.
Lara did not look great, but I thought he did enough to win the fight. Apparently he landed more punches in every round. Vanes was swinging at a lot of air and Lara was landing some good punches, especially as the fight progressed.
I thought Lara won by shutout, but he's such a dirty and negative fighter. I see why Canelo's team wouldn't want to put him in with Lara. Even if he wins, it'll be an ugly and boring affair, with Canelo's stock the worse for wear afterwards.
Past prime Cintron, over the hill Mosley are far better then Vanes. Vanes is a same fighter that really lost to shot decline freaking ouma for goodness sake lol. The way lara fights, canelo will have an easy time with him. Lara does look like he's scared to get hit by a big puncher in which roy jones mention it many times last night. And if thats the case then i expect lara to run around the ring vs canelo.
