Lara has told his manager that he's serious about the fight and wants it. I think GBP knows that Lara would beat Canelo and that Canelo would have to eventually fight him if they both keep winning at 154.
So I think they wouldn't mind letting Lara fight on HBO for 1 fight to take on GGG.

If he loses, then Canelo is free. If he wins, then they have a big star and control of 2 middleweight belts (Peter Quillin with the other one)

Lara needs to worry about Mundine first.

I'm sure they'd be happier than pigs in **** if Lara could fight GGG on HBO and the 1.x million in ratings that comes along with it.

Who decides who gets to fight on HBO, though? Erislandy Lara's manager or the people at HBO?
I don't think HBO is going to break the "cold war" bull**** for Erislandy Lara.

That's a good point. I may be too optimistic tbh

Lara would beat Canelo the same way he beat Trout. He would land his 1-2 and get out when Canelo tries to counter him and exploit the fact that Canelo has to be stationary when he's punching.

Golovkin would knock Lara out, but he would not get any credit for that win. The haters would simply say that Golovkin knocked out a smaller guy. If Angulo can beat the crap out of Lara, then Golovkin would knock him out cold. Golovkin is totally superior to Angulo. Again, if Angulo could land a punches on Lara then Golovkin would land more, plus Golovkin has a superior defense. Kirkland refused to fight Golovkin, yet he stopped Angulo.........

This is a great fight... Not sure why I didn't think of it. I mean both Lara and Golovkin are trying to build their names so why not put this one on? I don't think Lara is that valuable... Maybe showtime can buy out his contract or rent him for a fight?

Lee is known better, but boxing fans know who Lara is..................it would an interesting fight, I would not mind watching it. Golovkin by knockout, but it would be a good fight while it lasts....................Wonder if the Lee fight has been signed?

That would be a great fight. This will be a tough close fight till GGG eventually breaks him down and takes him out in my opinion. Please make it happen!

Lara was nearly KO'd by Angulo. GGG would decapitate him. Lee is next though, and Lara would have to jump to 160.

K2 says if Lara gets the belt from Quillin, HBO will definitely approve a unification fight.

Quillin still has no fight date or opponent afaik. Unification fight would mean bigger payday, and bigger fight for both. Lets hope GBP makes that fight, because I think Lara has a very good chance versus Quillin and Lara will obviously try and get his management/promoter to make a unification bout.

If Lara beats Quillin, and GBP offers K2 a contract then the fight will get made.
