Junior middleweight contender Erislandy Lara (15-1, 10KOs)*has been*reading the back and forth debate between the promotional teams behind middleweight champions Sergio Martinez and Dmitry Pirog. The Russian boxer's team made an offer of $3 million dollars to entice Martinez to travel*across the ocean*to Russia for a fight with Pirog. But*Martinez and his management have*zero interest in facing Pirog in Russia -especially without the involvement of American television.

Where Martinez won't go, Lara is willing. The Cuban boxer has no problem moving up to to 160-pounds, or facing Pirog in Russia.

"Team Pirog*is*looking hard for an ass whooping. If Martinez won't fight*you in Russia -*I will. I have fought all over the world and that type of*atmosphere doesn't bother me. I just beat Paul Williams like he helped [Fidel] Castro take over my country and i still can't find a fight. Angulo, Kirkland, Molina, Trout and*Dzinziruk have all turned me down. For an opportunity at a title I would consider moving to*160-pounds, and flying across the world to make a point. I am one of the best fighters in the world, pound-for-pound. This is my open challenge to Dmitry Pirog," Lara told ***********.com.*

    Maybe winner gets Martinez?

Good fight, don't think it happens, but I would like to see it. Both guys need a good opponent and can't find one so they may as well face each other. I would prefer it to happen here so it gets television coverage but even in Russia its a fight that I'd like to see.

I like Lara's willingness to fight. Just imagine if all fighter had that mindset. We would be spoiled.

for my $, Golovkin takes out Pirog and Lara both. I'd like to see Jacobs vs Lara. Golovkin vs Pirog. Winner fight.

but Pirog vs Lara is a good fight. Good way for Pirog to try to make a name.

That would be an excellent fight. I love that Lara isn't afraid to take on all comers. (needs to rematch molina, though)
