An average fighter at best. His best wins are Biggs,Witherspoon and Holyfield all of whom were way past their prime.

But he stood up to it though! I was impressed he didn't get his jaw fractured, cheap shot.

He was definitely skilled but lacked mental toughness. I remember watching his fight with Kirk Johnson, and Donald was so timid all he threw all night long was jabs, while Johnson was willing to press the action and mix it up, and won the fight.

Bowe exposed the fact that Donald could be intimidated, and that was pretty much it for him.

Have to give him credit even for going the whole 12 rounds with Bowe, at the time the latter was still knocking out good competition.

I always saw him as a very fine fighter, but not quite good enough to get past the best.

He was a good fighter right up until Bowe sucker punched him at the weigh in. 2 punch combo if im not mistaken.
I've always been a Riddick Bowe fan, but i thought that sucker punch was a completely classless, punk move..
Highly effective though, Donald showed no heart after that

I think he did a great job using one of the most powerful tools a boxer can use: intimidation. Donald was a real loser in that fight for a reason: he was scared. Just intensification of Ali.

I thought it was cool how, once he realized he hadn't put any leverage on the left hook, Bowe bent at the waist for the next punch. Donald must have really gotten frightened. It's bizarre how Bowe didn't do similar with LL after the first fight with Holy...of course, that WAS after a grueling 12 round fight.

I never thought Donald looked focused very often, it's like he was never all in with his career

I was a big fan of Bowe... but wished he would have gone to jail for what he did to Donald at the presser... or made him give his purse to Larry....

Donald was a poor man's Quick Tillis, who was himself a poor man's Chris Byrd, who was, of course, a poor man's Jimmy Young.
