Larry Holmes of the Butterbean fight would give Danny Williams all he could handle.

These threads are tedious and obvious. Is it Vitali's fought that most his opponents are so psyched out they don't even bother to train?

Holmes by humiliating late round stoppage.

Williams had as much heart as any fighter, but lacked motivation to train properly..... and to even appoint a proper trainer half the time - instead preferring to use the 'Muslim Brotherhood Fraternity' or whatever it is called.

Focus Danny, focus. Use your jab.

How about using your legs doing roadwork once in a while?

I'm not sure Williams was genuinely talented enough to win a world title, but he could have helped himself better, that's for sure.

Well, Danny Williams must have been psyched out by almost every opponent he ever had then.

Seriously, aren't you the guy who says this era's heavyweights are the best crop there have ever been ?

it's just to show how bad the heavy's are now and how the klits are not pushed at all :hey

i am not saying the klits are not good fighters just that their opposition is as poor as i can remember:good

Yeah, they are both good fighters but their opposition isn't just ordinary, it's pitifully weak.

No it's not. This is a particularly strong era for heavyweights you just hate Europeans, they have modern training techniques, overrated 70's fighters would only be cruiserweights today.
    (sarcasm)

Seriously, the guys they're fighting are woeful

Got to go along with the consensus here. Even at that advanced stage of Holmes' career,he would easily beat Williams.
