    Lettuce not blame Larry.

It isn't his fault he didn't win a bunch of fixed fights and float like a... butterfly like Ali or that he didn't possess Tyson's ferocity, power and speed (the greatest ever in the heavyweight division) and thoroughly dominate like a God.

Larry did have "That Jab" and never touched a PED in his life. Look at the man.

It's amazing that he was never an Olympian, his style was so polished. Lost to ****ing Bobick :-( By a right hand of course

Larry Holmes was great champion, but I couldn't agree more that he was under appreciated. One the things I respected most about Holmes is he spoke his mind and didn't mince words to please people, that was powerful to me, much in the same fashion that Ali did it, but with Ali it had more of a theatrical tone, Larry meant it!

Shame he never fought Page, Dokes, Thomas, Tubbs etc.

Great fighter, the way he climbed up & survived after eating an enormous bomb from Shavers was incredible.

    What? :conf

The only one of the lost generation he fought was a green 'Spoon who gave him one of his toughest tests.

Holmes reminds me of Frazier. Honest, simple and proud family man. I get the impression he's the sort of guy who wouldn't have boxed if he didn't have to.
He sounds a little punchy but I guess who doesn't after a long and hard career.
Still I have to question if conducting yourself like a champion means leaping off cars and kicking guys in the face.

I know. It's just amusing how many fighters you rattled off that he didn't fight, for one reason.. Or another.

Read more of Nosbor's posts. :deal

This place is completely out of control to merit serious replies anymore. I'll do that on another forum.

I guess one reason was Don King, another was $. Larry is still a legend, I thought he beat McCall but didnt get the decision.

No. what usually happens to 'good forums'

is that the great boxing scholar fans after a month or 2 of great and insightful banter and respectable essay length debates will begin to miss the
tko6s, the rakim oak stories, the 'chin checkers' and the heavyweightcp level threads, the lucian bute battleship sinkings.....

and they inevitably just go back to one of the 'big 2'
