Larry Holmes beat more prime undedeated fighters than any other HW champ

-Ossie Occasio 23 years old undefeated came off 2 wins over Jimmy Young
-Leroy Jones 6'5 undefeated, had wins over Weaver and Dino Dennis
-Renaldo Snipes 6'2 25 years old undefeated
-Gerry Cooney 6'6 25 #1 contender & undefeated
-Tim Witherspoon 6'3 25 undefeated, went on to become a 2x champ
-Scott Frank 25 undefeated
-marvis frazier 23 undefeated, later became a champion
-David Bey 6'3 28 undefeated USBA champ who came off a win over Greg Page
-Carl Williams 6'4 25 undefeated ranked #8 by the IBF
-Ray Mercer 6'1 30 former gold medalist, former WBO champ coming off big wins over Damiani and Morrison

As you can see, most fighters on the list either had good credentials/were ranked or would go on to do great things. A common criticism of Holmes' resume is that his best opponents (Norton, Ali, Shavers) were past their prime and he isnt given enough credit. So how come people gloss over all these wins? How can you have 20 title defenses and people pretend like you fought nobody?

Im not acting like these opponents were all hall of famers but lets not go from one extreme to the other! I'm pretty sure he has set a record for beating young undefeated fighters (at heavyweight).

Its also noteworthy Holmes fought 2 undefeated fighters back to back (spinx and Tyson) and later challenged an undefeated champion Holyfield at the age of 42 and barely lost a split decision against Brian Nielson at 47.
