A common criticism of Holmes' resume is that his best opponents (Norton, Ali, Shavers) were past their prime and he isnt given enough credit. So how come people gloss over all these wins? How can you have 20 title defenses and people pretend like you fought nobody? Im not acting like these opponents were all hall of famers but lets not go from one extreme to the other! I'm pretty sure he has set a record for beating young undefeated fighters (at heavyweight). Its also noteworthy Holmes fought 2 undefeated fighters back to back (spinx and Tyson) and later challenged an undefeated champion Holyfield at the age of 42 and barely lost a split decision against Brian Nielson at 47.
