Larry Holmes getting out of the game or falling on hard times?

    Looks like the champ is falling on difficult times or trying to retire from it all. but on his website he is selling the gym, his escalade, and making himself available for appearance. Hope all is well for him, Holmes is one of my favorites.

    I sure hope not. Larry said recently that Don King shorted him about 40% on most of his purses. Yet we have people on here that praise that scumbag King.

    I heard an interview with Holmes a week or so ago and he was talking about how well he had invested his money, buying heaps of businesses and real estate.

    So unless he hooked up with Bernie Maddoff, I would say he is just clearing out stuff he no longer wants/needs.

    i would find it hard to believe...holmes was one of the few that made good investments years ago....and he didnt go out buying 40 cars and giant entourages , he was a family guy who was smart.....

    What makes you guys so sure its not about the money? Guys more saavy than him have lost everything because of this economy. He could very well be without the funds he needs to live on.

    Business and real estate are the areas that got hit the hardest. Commercial Real Estate is hurting also. That is where Larry had his money. We don't know though. He may just be cutting back.
