    Gifted vs Mercer? You what?

That was one of the most dominant schoolings of the whole 90's.

    Stop it Larry.

    Wlad would have steamrolled Spinksy.

I'd put my money on Povetkin to beat Spinks. I don't know how Spinks could keep AP off of him to be honest.

Spinks didn't really win either fight....Holmes would get his clock cleaned with Vital and Wlad would be an entertaining fight but I would take Wlad.

An old past-prime Holmes lost to Tyson.

Holmes fought much worse opposition than Wlad. The early 80s was the worst HW era in the history of the sport.

    This x1000.

Guys like Haye, Chag, and other fridge top 20 guys would have cleared that division.

There will never be a decade that bad.

Wlad would not lose to smaller men (statistically speaking), he would have 70 straight defenses if he fought Larry Holmes opposition.

The 80s was an awful era, similar to the current one.

But Holmes not only avoided several top contenders, he also fought many fighters that had 12-18 pro fights. :patsch

He kinda did fight who Wlad fought. A mix of pretty good and dead on mediocre contenders with some really weak sauce on top. Larry has no self awareness. He also always tries to make himself seem like he was champion throughout the golden era of Ali/Foreman/Frazier, when he was more of a sparring partner during their best work in that era. And tries to act like the Shavers and ****eys of the world were something more than big punching contenders with regular other assets and skills. They're weren't. I don't think Holmes realizes how close he and Wlad's legacies actually are in the division's history.

I still think holmes fought better technical guys than ali did,had foreman not ducked holmes his career ,Holmes would have got more credit, because I cant see Holmes losing that one,and he did fight a peak ****ey ,I think ****ey was aways better than Norton. who fought the better guys?i think Wlad.

Vlad would walk through the Holmes era and that would be including the guys Holmes refused to fight or unify against.
