Larry Holmes: If I fought who Wladimir Klitschko fought, I'd have 40 title defenses

    Stop making excuses.

It's not Larry's fault he never unified.

It's not Larry's fault he got robbed of a decision.

It's not Larry's fault he never fought ....

thats because he loves to be adored, has huge ego just listen him when he comperes himself with other greats. He likes it when someone kiss his azz. And and cant take critisism well. He is quite opposit to down to earth when it comes to his ranking. He had message board and when someone would not kiss his azz he would treaten to ban him lol

He got gifts against Witherspoon and Willliams. You are a young man because you don't know that is how it was regarded.

It is not my oppinion that he is a coward, he OPENLY ducked Page and Thomas. He made no bones about it at all.

    Oh young man.

which wlad spanks holmes. not sure I know this one, I only know the one who got instantly destroyed by a failed retired shot contender.

wonder how long he lasts with an ATG prime champion.

I know the one who got beat by an LHW. Hw wouldn't last long at all with the aTG who is about to surpass him in defenses.

Losing to Spinks is certainly no worse than losing to blown-up supper-middleweight Chris Byrd.

I think Wlad is a bit fake.At least a guy like Fury is real and doesn't look down on anyone. He spends a long time in any situation signing autographs and talking to fans.Does Wlad?

Sounds a bit gay. I always thought Larry's glasses were a bit campy. ;)

Interesting Larry dropped his wbc belt and refused to face #1 Page, instead going against the less dangerous Marvis Frazier for a whole new org, the IBF. A bit like Wlad dropping all his belts for some no name abc strap, and surely a break in his reign. Wlad has ducked nobody, and he wants Wilder after TF. True champion. :happy

You still do not understand the difference between a fact and an opinion. Never mind you are clearly not able, for whatever reason (whether it be down to youth, senility, syphilis), to make that distinction.

I also did not suggest that the results against Witherspoon and Williams were not regarded the way you see them, by anyone else at the time. I gave my take on those results, which was the take I had at the time and the take I will always have on them.

However, in an article by Pat Putnam, for Sports Illustrated, published ten days after the Witherspoon fight, the author lists the scores, as follows:

"Judges Chuck Hassett (118-111) and Chuck Minker (115-113), who seemed to have the fairest score of all, voted for Holmes. Herb Santos gave it to Witherspoon 115-114."

That does not read to me like a journalist, AT THE TIME, who saw it as a 'gift' to Holmes, although the article also touches on Holmes contemplation of retirement and light speculation on the possible reasons for his below-par performance against Witherspoon.

Additionally - in regard to the Williams fight - the Associated Press unofficial scorecard "favored Holmes 145-140." Again, not a resounding outcry of robbery, from independent observers, AT THE TIME.

In respect to Holmes and Page, Holmes wanted more money to fight Page - pure and simple. If you want to twist that into cowardice on Holmes' part then that is your opinion; not fact.

As I made clear at the outset, the incessant repetition of one's opinions does not make them facts. You may convince someone like yourself with this approach but the reality is that sharing unsupported and subjective views, as though they were undeniable proofs, is close to being the most unintelligent behaviour a person can exhibit, in day-to-day communication - especially when that person's views are quite warped, such as yours are.

Cowards generally don't become Legends. Fortunately, we don't have to rely on sad individuals like you with a pathetic agenda, in order to establish the truth of Holmes and his Legendary status.

At least he wasn't smashed twice in one round by the same fighter as an amateur, both times taken out the ring on a stretcher totally sparked. :hi:
