I think Foreman ends Holmes within eight rounds prime for prime, he struggled with less then George in his finest years.

That’s just my opinion however and I respect yours.

Ruddock is not great at all in my opinion, people really just like power punchers too much.

It’s funny his name Razor was a reference to his boxing ability and he wasn’t noted as a puncher in his early years.

Overrated a bit in here for mine. He breezes past the likes of Foreman, Liston, Lewis and Holyfield yet in the real world he struggled with far lesser fighters, sometimes mightily. Still a great H2H heavyweight just not quite the force many see him as IMO.

Maybe factor in he was 48 and still went the distance with a much younger , world class, undefeated if grotesque looking opponent ..

Well styles make fights and Foreman struggled with outboxers and Larry Holmes was up there

He's in my Top 5 Head 2 Head Heavyweights.

    1) Muhammad Ali
    2) Mike Tyson
    3) Joe Louis
    4) Larry Holmes
    5) Sonny Liston

Larry didn't just box, he could also fight, he was durable and adaptable.

I personally think from 1977 onwards Larry Holmes beats George Foreman.

However assuming what you're saying is the more likely scenario, I still tend to think that even if Foreman beats Holmes in a round robin tournament against 20 of the best Heavyweights ever, Holmes would have the better record.

He is not in my top 5 at all. He would be lucky to get in the top 10 . He has issues H2H with most former and current champs as well.

    1- Ali
    2- Marciano
    3- WK
    4- Foreman
    5- Louis

I could easily add 5 more Tyson, Frazier, Johnson, Liston, VK, Jeffires, Holyfield, Lennox Lewis, Tunney, Dempsey.

Holmes struggles with the lower ranks, Norton, Morrsion, Patterson, Walcott, Schmelling, Baer, Bowe... hell even Ruiz. Holmes is pretty overated IMO

    I have him between 3-5:

    1- Ali
    2- Louis
3-5- Holmes, Johnson, Lewis (3-5 are interchangeable, but Lewis is more likely No. 5)

Okay but h2h is another story (list was in general and not h2h). h2h Larry Holmes, together with Lennox Lewis and prime Ali 66/67 (if he was approximately as robust as in 70s, he could be the greatest h2h) are my favourites. Not to underestimate: Vitali Klitschko, Riddick Bowe, Mike Tyson, Sonny Liston and Joe Louis.

Holmes sqeaked past Norton , many thought Norton won, lost to a Light Heavy Spinks, destroyed by Tyson and was ran close by the limited Cooney. He gets points for long duration. Your opinion is different that mine if you thnk he was better than what he showed.

There is a reason he does poorly H2H and why many do not have him in the top 10.

You mean the norton that arguably beat Ali 3 times. Yea he lost to spinks but there’s a lot of people who edged both to Holmes. Also he was past it and hadn’t fought in years when he faced Tyson. Last I remember he knocked cooney tfo

Norton performs very poorly H2H in most matchups, but he is slightly underated. Regardless, Holmes was a winner , but not dominant, even in his Chanpionship run.

If you have him in your top 10, then that is on you. Everyone has there opinions. I do not have him in mine.

I’m not saying you have to have him but the reasons you gave were pretty bad
