    Larry definitely gave it all in that 9th. Spoon said he was rubbernecking but he got caught good more than once. Larry made it like a Last Stand and more than weathered the storm. There are few fights more indicative of his being an ATG than this one imo.

    Spoon came so near to ending the reign of Larry Holmes. Not sure how much it changes Witherspoon s perspective winning the title then, the lineal title. Unfortunately I don't see him lasting long and losing it soon after.

    It's strange how, despite Spoon being so young, he never seemed to fight quite as well after this. He seemed to give it all in the Holmes fight and...well, left the best of himself there.

    It may have been a totally different ballgame if he'd won that night.
