Boxers are, in fact, human, so it makes sense that they would experience a very human emotion like fear, especially when competing against other high-level opponents. A fighter would have to be a robot to never feel fear or be afraid. But I guess it's that whole hero worship thing that makes fans not want to even think that their favorite fighter might actually fear another fighter.
