Larry Holmes opposition

    It isn't Larry's fault that lesser fighters defeated the better fighters when it mattered. That is the fault of no one but Jimmy Young and others who showed up out of shape and unmotivated. Had Larry fought Jimmy Young anyway instead of Ossie Ocasio, people would be saying that Larry was afraid to fight Ocasio because of his two wins over Jimmy Young, and Larry took the easier fight by taking on the man who was defeated twice by the measly Ocasio.

    He Grant the man with the agenda.....Page may have under-trained most of the time but when he was in shape he had some talent...a lot of his fights were lean fests but when he was ion shape he was formidable...he had hand speed,movement and a powerful right hand...he was far from a killer but he was enough of a threat for Holmes to duck and give up a title....I think Holmes was a better fighter but Page had a shot to beat him because of styles...I am not a naysayer of Holmes but I lived the era, and I think you may have been born but were too young to know the era...I do not blame Holmes for all of the navigation around the best of his era but there were many he chose not to fight and I think he had a good reason...to be honest I did not think Michael Spinks was strong enough but he beat Holmes clearly in fight 1, I fear for Holmes had that been one of the other flash in the pans that could hit like a heavyweight
