Maybe in history? Guy had lightning like hands, amazing snap to them. A very underrated finisher.

Holmes had a long reach, and a "heavy jab" which he brought up from a strange angle at times.

I make prime Ali & prime Holmes and "even" fight....someone's jab will be neutralized, and then what great type of punches do they have left.

His Peak weight range was 209-215lbs...

Ali & Tyson had visibly faster hands Peak for Peak.

Holmes was the total package--minus a left hook.... Aside from his absent left hook, he was one of the very best heavies going back to 1887...... Yes, yes, Holmes lacked charisma and a personailty, but his talent to box is elite... Larry Holmes is a solid ATG top-10 ex heavyweight champion without a doubt, but I have him in my top-5....

The first tier of heavyweight champs in speed would contain Patterson and Ali. Both naturally smaller men. Patterson quite a bit so. He might be in the second tier? For 6'3+, 210+ or so guys, he's probably in the first tier.

And nobody today can honestly judge how quick fisted and footed Jimmy Corbett was... The films are too crude to get a real account of his finess..... According to the 1942 film with Errol Flynn, you'd think Corbett was a speed king.... Who knows?

Holmes definitely some of the fastest hands the ehavyweight division
has ever seen. He was the total package, he could snap the
jab beautifully and had a solid chin. Great footwork imo.
Not the fastest hands though, Tyson, Ali, Ive seen limited
footage of patterson but i take these guys word about him.
you wanna see maybe the fastest check out some amateur or
Pre pro footage of Tyson you have to see it to believe it.
    Holmes easily top 10 alltime.

This. He was fast, but not "wow" fast.
