So who would you consider a good 90s heavyweight?

Thats because although Holyfield was past it he was still world class, arguably even still elite, similar to Wladimir in his late 30s and 40s, just a couple years prior he absolutely battered Mike Tyson and even beat Rahman after the Lewis fights (he was ahead on the cards so the head butt stoppage doesn't matter), and Rahman beat Corrie Sanders.

Another vote for Holmes by decision. His movement and speed give him the edgle

I'll go with Lewis. Holmes had too much trouble with Witherspoon, Cooney, Norton, Williams, and Spinks to get my vote.

I think this would be a close tactical affair for sure with both trying to establish the jab. Leaning Holmes based on his activity level. He simply threw more punches than Lewis but Lewis threw the harder shots.

Lewis by decision. George did a great summation of the fight a while back which summed it up for me perfectly.

Lennox would win a decision, BUT he has to use his jab and not paw with it. If he listens to Steward and relies on his jab I think he wins. Strangely enough, I think Wladimir Klitschko would give Holmes more problems because Wlad relies much more on his jab and its very fast and powerful.

Mercer improved by the time he fought Lewis.

Lewis used to get caught with a lot of jabs, Rahman was catching early on in their rematch with jabs because of Lewis`s poor head movement, Mercer landed a lot of jabs on him and Bruno out-jabbed him, Holmes had a better jab than all three of those fighters and a much longer jab than Mercer`s.

OTOH Holmes had trouble with boxers who could return jabs.
Lewis can easily disrupt Holmes' plans. LL is also capable of getting into a firefight. Up close he is stronger and more capable than Holmes.

Holmes had a better chin and better combo`s, he`d post with his long arms picking off Lewis`s shots, he was far better than anybody Lewis beat.

My point was that fighters he beat in there primes is slim pickings. Old Evander still took it to him he’s no H2H GOAT like some people claim.

The only thing Lewis had on Holmes is Power. That's it.
Holmes by UD. Just a better fighter all around.
