The wind from the first jab causes a butterfly effect wherein Solis' blubber jiggles enough to create a slight breeze itself, which KO's Savon cold.
Actually an interesting matchup. Holmes handed tall guys with soft chins with little trouble, but Potvetkin has an uncanny ability to counter a jab, and get inside, where he'd eat Holmes up. Larry thought to fight fire with fire vs Mike...... Now....Potvetkin isnt on Mike's level in terms of power or speed, but he's got some attributes that he's quite similar in, and seemingly, considering how badly Holmes struggled with a very basic and quite green Witherspoon, and later went tooth and nail with the 190lb Spinks..... This would be a tough fight for Holmes. I'd lean Holmes by extremely late TKO, maybe 14/15, or Potvetkin by KO, 6-7.
I and many others believe without a shadow of a doubt that Povetkin busts up Larry Holmes and gets him out of there late. Probably 10th or 11th round. Good back and forth fight but Povetkins accuracy and power catches up with Larry. How do you like them apples Mrs Lazcano?
I dont know if Sasha would the gas in the tank to do him late. Larry could tie up with the best of em. The bigger ??? for me is, does Larry's chin hold up to a modern era HWs power and accuracy. There arent any crude rudimentary Cooney's in the top 20 today. Closest you could get would be Brazeale.
Povetkin is way smarter and craftier than people give him credit for. He's good at shooting that right over the jab and throws very good combos on the inside. Wladimir was able to tie him up but that's 245lb Wlad with way more strength than Larry. I see it as a back and forth fight but Povetkin tags him eventually and Alexander is a good finisher.
and holmes was way past his peak against spinks .............povetkin would eat jab all nite long perhaps not getting stopped .......but it wouldnt even be close .
larry wouldnt even need to tie povetin up ......povetin is a cheat and who has he beaten? eddie chambers /huck/takam/perez/duhapaus ? big farginnnnnnn deal
