Larry Holmes vs Andrew Golota, Both Prime. Would this fight go the distance? Or would this fight turn nasty?

OMG! Holmes would slaughter him. He took Cooney apart, and he was faster and more lethal than golata. Golota reminds me of Tate, not very fast, but steady pressure, and some good skills. But Larry on another level

But as I recall he had a sledgehammer jab, so...

This. Holmes would make a mockery out of him. He might last 8 rounds, but be looking like a big bloody doofus at the end.

Holmes for sure. Golota would fall apart.

Agreed that Holmes would win. Disagree that Cooney was ever faster than 96 Golota, although Cooney probably packed a bigger punch.

Golota's hand speed deteriorated by the late 90s, and he was indeed slow by 2005-06. But in 95-96, Golota had deceptively fast hands.

yea, Holmes jab was a thing of beauty! You know, if I didn't have a nose, I would have probably boxed. But I have one, and I can't imagine someone hitting it like I see in that vid. If Larry even looked at my nose, it would be hurtin bleeding and eyes watering!

A lot of Golota post lately. No way am I picking him over one of the greatest heavyweights ever. Golota was talented but his weaknesses outshined his strengths IMO.

When Golota was good he was good, when he was was bad.. He got hammered. But against Holmes, I belive we'd see a little of both. Maybe a very even fight for a portion of the fight, but Larry's jab eventually starts to bust him up.
    Holmes stops him in 10.

Golota could give Holmes a tough time, but I think Larry would figure him out, start breaking him down and eventually KO him. Holmes is at a different level than Golota (who wasnt bad, just in his prime years could unravel mentally in a fight).
