I think that what we are realistically asking, is could Buddy Baer have given Holmes a good fight. I think that he possibly could, but that is as much as I could say for him.
I’d favor Larry Holmes to win with relative ease vs: Buddy Baer Max Baer Smokey Bear Paddington Bear Fozzie Bear Huggy Bear Teddy Bear Yogi Bear William “The Refrigerator” Perry, Jim McMahon and all the ‘85 Bears I’d say he’s a coin flip, however, with Bear Bryant.
He took quite a bit of leather from Louis in their first fight and at had his moments of competency, I don’t think it’s unreasonable to think he can give Larry a good one.
