Tyson Hagler, Hearns etc were the last of a great era, after their primes boxing standards slipped far a long time, Wilder`s fundamentals would have D`Amato pulling his hair out.
What guys?? The low level "barely contenders" Wilder has feasted on? Wilder is just an American Brian Neilsen
Uhm....who cares??? If you cannot simply acknowledge most of Wilders success is due to his very weak level of competition. Then there's no point in any discussion.
against who? Wilder has never, NEVER knocked out a top class fighter! journeymen, bums, club fighters and tomatoe cans don’t offer any resistance and have zero ambition to stay up let alone get up.
I don’t care about your biased opinion. Apart from Luis Ortiz, Deontay Wilder has not beaten anybody better than a 90’s version of Ray Mercer. Again, all you’re doing here is digging a bigger hole. You don’t even realise that by denigrating Ray Mercer, you are absolutely destroying Wilder’s resume. If you don’t rate Mercer, and you wouldn’t have rated a win over him, then what the hell does that say? Ha! Think about it. If you don’t rate Mercer, then how the hell you can rate anybody else on Wilder’s resume, apart from Fury and Ortiz? If Holmes and Mercer aren’t anybody to you, then who the hell are guys like Arreola and Stiverne etc?? You are completely biased and you (purposely) never apply context. You are Neet. 100%. Kindly list me all of the fighters who Wilder has beaten who are better than Ray Mercer. Sure, Mercer isn’t an ATG. But when he was on form, he was very capable. If he was around today, he would 100% be a top 10 guy in the division. And so would Tommy Morrison who he beat. And regarding his performance against Lennox, he didn’t arguably beat him just by catching him like McCall and Rahman did. He boxed him. Look at the height and reach that he gave up. Lewis is an ATG HW. Anybody who could push Lewis like that, had to have been a very capable guy. Mercer, Morrison and even a 42 old year Larry Holmes would be in today’s top 10. So, no. Wilder would not have been slated if he’d have beaten a 90’s Mercer. Again, it would have been heralded as the best win of his career.
