Styles, styles, styles.Larry couldn't fight very well going forward, but against George he wouldn't have to.This would be a *******,and I like Larry outright.

Sure - but when one speaks of Foreman vs. Holmes it generally isn't as a wrinkle-in-time fantasy match-up but during either of the periods where their careers overlapped as it was talked about a great deal during both and could easily have materialized.

Prime Holmes beats his contemporary Foreman (the one who lost to Young) wide, and Old Holmes edges out Comeback Foreman as well but narrower.

Larry Holmes as a boxer. George Foreman as a person. Winning the hw championship and then promoting the George Foreman grill which almost everyone I know owns including myself. Baller ****.

Larry isn't a bad person. His brashness is overemphasized and wasn't as bad as his idol's, for whom people forgive the same readily.

If I needed a babysitter and it was between the two, though - I'm definitely calling George. :yep

both had fantastic jabs holmes jab was a bit sharper georges was heavier.
holmes style is the most effective against george ie big rangey and good at gtfo.
i voted george because holmes chin was good but not great and george is incredibly destructive when he smelt blood.
holmes could deffinately win on points though
    both had great heart
    itd be a great fight

Foreman. If Shavers, Snipes, Witherspoon, etc. could put Holmes down, a PRIME Big George Foreman would keep him there. :nod

You do realize that Holmes was older than that when he fought McCall, right? Larry gave that dude all he could handle...

Damn, Larry gets no respect on this site. Yes, Foreman's net worth is greater but Larry has done fairly well in real estate( and other ventures)...using his brain, not just his name.

That's the way I see it. Foreman would have to do what he did to Norton; catch him early and not stop punching. If Larry could weather the storm, I think he would decision George.

yeh its a really interesting fight
george could most deffinately drop larry but larry had ALOT of heart and would probably get back up once or even twice.
both had AWESOME jabs larry had a great right hand too but i dont think he could ko foreman

old larry was a shell old george would hurt him badly.
guys who have alot of speed when theyr young tend to suffer big time when they lose it (ali being a huge exception to that and even though he was very slow compared to his youth he was still bloody quick lol and tough as hell too)

    Holmes sent him into retirement.

Foreman didn't want to know Holmes.
