Prime Holmes' jab alone would've make Ike lose his mind, probably literally. Ike would have his moments I'm sure, but would most likely lose a decision. Holmes UD Ibeabuchi I still wonder would could have been for Ike in boxing if he wasn't a lunatic.
well, Holmes probably wins a decision. it will be more competitive because Ike was better then mercer imo (especially that version), but Holmes will probably just beat him with the classic skills that he showed
prime holmes would bust him up. if he wanted to larry would stop him and thumb ike's eyes or lace him. As a new champion nobody went the distance with peak Holmes.
Larry was way too good, and that jab of his is money against a fighter like Ike. Holmes beats him up, possibly stops him late. Too often Ike gets rated on what could have been, not what was-He was a very strong burgeoning contender, but never proved to be on the level of a true champion.
From what I heard Ike still was having problems with mobile boxers. Larry would probably dice him up pretty badly, but Ike was getting better he wasnt fully developed yet..
prime Holmes wins by decision old Holmes loses by decision Ike's work rate, even chasing old Holmes down would take enough rounds i believe.
Prime Holmes outpoints him but has a rough time doing it. The Holmes that fought Mercer probably loses via simple workrate and attrition. Ike and Mercer were different animals in terms of workrate, Mercer could literally go into shells and do nothing. Ike's just not a good fighter for old men to fight.
Medocrity, I believe. I suspect the genius of his ability, and his personal demons, come from the same strand of behaviour.
