Could Young's spoiling style at it's best mean trouble for Larry?

Young at his best would spell trouble for any heavyweight in history. I think Young would've beaten Holmes between 75-77, but at his peak, i expect Holmes to outwork Young. Jimmy's problem (and this goes for a lot of defensive heavyweights) was that he was great at not getting caught, especially by big shots, but at the cost of quite some energy, which means that his punch output is limited. Against technically limited guys like Foreman, Lyle and Shavers, he could make his punches count, but Holmes is harder to hit and has outstanding stamina.

I expect Holmes to look bad, very bad at times, but in the end pick up a decision simply based on doing more work... neither man gets hurt at any point.

However, seeing how far Witherspoon got, Young is a live underdog with a decent chance.

I think Chris nailed it ... Prime Holmes by decision against a difficult guy ...
