Close chessmatch type of fight and not very spectacular for spectators. It goes the distance, and Holmes more powerful jab shades it for him.
Young is awesomely talented but he's out of his depth here. Larry is no past his best Ali. Nor is he an offensively obsessed Foreman. Larry will control him behind the jab and win a horrible decision.
Holmes wins on points, apart from anything else, he had a little more "devil" in his work, more assertive and aggresive...enough anyway to sway the judges. Holmes would look like he was doing more...
Well, I like your choice of adjectives myself, because Young truly was used to getting screwed without being kissed allright.
Like this, and believe Young definitely screwed against Norton, possibly against Ali.But also agree that Holmes had maybe more of a champions mentality and definitely a more powerful jab. This, I believe, plus the threat of Holmes underrated right hand, might be enough to deter Jimmy sufficient for a fairly clear Holmes win.Young one of best boxers never to,but Holmes one of best to win the title.
I didn't say that Young would beat Holmes,....just that he woulkd have made him look very bad...and he would have.,...but go ahead you guys, and put that Superman cape of ol' peanut head anyway.
I think Holmes' jab and champion's mentality carries the day to a UD15. Young will have his moments - he did not always win, but usually made the other guy look bad. Holmes will miss a lot but prevail in a bout best appreciated by the purists.
