Wrong fight for Lewis , and probably the only fighter I can think of that would out jab Lewis.

Holmes over 15 wins by five or six rounds.

    I agree.

Just out of interest... In another thread I noticed you ranked Lewis 5-10 in the ATG list. Where do you rank Holmes?

This is a crazy one to pick. Gotta go with Holmes cause he shows more heart and will to win. This could go either way though....

Holmes, faster hands, better combinations, better jab, way better footwork, better defense, better counterpuncher, more willing to trade.

    Lewis better power, physically stronger.

Both are pretty equal in the chin (a touch below average for fighters of their callibre) and stamina department.

I believe Holmes would win a comfortably wide decision. Holmes has one of the best jabs I have ever seen, had superior ring intelligence, was very athletic, had great heart and stamina. Lewis on the other hand was a stronger puncher and had the ability of rising to the occasion when his back was against the wall. In a classic I see Holmes having to dig deep at times but showing just too much boxing skill and spite to take out a points win by around 3 clear rounds in a 12 rounder. A great matchup!

Holmes got lucky he been in the shitera of HW.

Lennox could beat anybody at HW, I rank him top 3 HW of all times. People don't understand that he learned everything about boxing and would school many of boxers considered better than him.

Lennox is the man. His prime is at the same level as Ali's and I mean it. Lennox was one tough HW champ.

Its kinda crazy, but style-wise I think Holmes could pull off a decision win over L.L.

(if he didn't get sparked with a right hand in the process that is)

(then again, he did get back up to win the fight after getting nailed by Shavers!)

Larry is definitely top 10 but not top 5, not to me anyway. I rank Lewis higher because he beat better competition & most by KO. Only 2 losses and both were avenged, even if the win over McCall was a win over a crackhead. A win is a win after all.

............and before you ask, I rank Holmes above both Klitschkos at this point. Wlad has a serious shot at making the top 10 Heavyweights of all time if he isn't already in there.

I'm afraid it's too late for Vitali to crack the top 10 but he's a solid 10-15 based on his comeback without a tuneup after a 4 year layoff. He didn't just win either, he shut the number 2 ranked Heavyweight, Peter out. That and being one half of the only 2 brothers to hold portions of the Heavyweight title at the same time.

    I agree. :good

Lewis is a tough fight for any Heavyweight in history. :deal That doesn't mean he wins them all, but he wins most of them & probably by KO too.

I thought an over the hill Holmes looked better against Mercer and McCall then a near prime Lewis did. I also think Holmes fought the better version of Mercer. Holmes takes this 10-5 IMO
