Its a tough call. Holmes was a superior boxer, but Bowe had size and better infighting ability and could be offensive as hell against the lighter hitting Holmes.

Holmes by UD! Bowe loved to fight inside I think Holmes would figure that out and box from outside and win by pts.

Larry was a superior ring general, faster, would keep this at range, and tie Bowe up in close. This would be a fairly pedestrian decision win for Holmes.

Holmes is about to get over-rated.

You really think he could tie Bowe up on the inside? Bowe outweighed him by 30 pounds and could handle himself pretty well on the inside. I dont remember anyone ever tieing Bowe up on the inside, including Holyfield who was comparable to Holmes size in his prime.

Holmes would out speed, out fight him, out think him, out tough him and win either a wide decision or a late round stopage ..

There would inevitably be moments when Bowe would manage to close the distance, but these episodes would be brief. Holmes had good functional physical strength, and I think he could prevent Bowe from going to work inside before breaking away. He was no infighter, but muscled around Cooney in the clinches, and dealt with both a prime Frazier and Ali in numerous sparring sessions, quality experience. In any event, this wouldn't be decided by infighting.

Bowe threw a long committing righthand. It allowed him to get close. He was also very good at fighting in the clinches with short hooks and short uppercuts. It might be at close quarters more than you think and certainly not a fairly pedestrian win for Holmes IMO.

Holmes ,he is superior in nearly every department ,imo.
Better mover, better jab, faster hands , at least equal power
Bowe is better inside, and Larry did not throw many left hooks but otherwise ? My vote goes to Holmes, by dec.

Holmes had too many tools for Bowe. The only advantage Bowe had was on the inside.
Larry would never let him get there.
