He is 1.5" taller than Louis with 5 inches more reach!
He lost his title to a man weighing 199.75lbs who was 6 years younger than the 35 years old Holmes.
A challenger who was taller and heavier than anyone Marciano defended against except for fat 5'10" C*ckell.

Wonder how Rocky would do at 35 with him?:think

You refereed to his fighting style as 1898. That's the bigger issue I have. Yet you call him the greatest p4p fighter of all time head to head under 200lb?

And Holmes has to deal with an Animal for 15 rounds. Boxing's ultimate animal, who had one of the greatest right hands of all time, A never ending motor, an incredible punch output, and a great chin. Holmes will be put through a war. If round 15 comes up, Holmes better be equipped to face 110 power punches from Marciano in that round.

Marciano absolutely has a punchers chance in this fight. Holmes is a sucker for a right hand. Marciano has one of the best. Unlike Shavers, Snipes, Norton, Weaver....Marciano is an all time great finisher.

I still think it is a 50-50 fight, and I do rate Holmes ahead of Marciano on my all time list.

Joe Louis height 6'1.5" reach 76"

Larry Holmes height 6'3" reach 81"
That 's not pumping any body up, its stating a factual statistic.
What's wrong , cant you take the heat?

Holmes' interior defense was fantastic. He was great at stifling attacks with his strength and forearms. The few times he has been hurt occurred at mid-range against rangy right hands.

Also, inside Larry had a great uppercut... a game changer uppercut. That would come into play.

I don't think anyone is going to cold**** anyone else in this match. It will be a war of attrition which Holmes would win... most likely before the end... and with Marciano still on his feet.

But who the **** knows. Both were great fighters in their own right. I would never argue that.

Marciano fought out of a deep crouch. It will be difficult and dangerous for Holmes to land his uppercut and he had no left hook. A great bobbing and weaving fighter which Rocky was looks for his opponents to lean down or in in an effort to get punches off. In the process Rocky will counter with his own hook. Great small fighters can make things very difficult for tall rangy boxers. It's not universally the case that the taller man automatically has the advantage.
