Little runt, no reach, 13 stone, skin that cuts like a tomato. This is one fight where Holmes wouldn't even need a right hand. He could knock Marciano off balance with one out of every 3 jabs, whilst the other 2 lighter ones just worked on cuts. Marciano stopped bleeding like a stuck pig in 10 rounds, scores being 100 - 90 on all 3 cards.

Going into their fights with Rocky both Moore and Walcott stated that Marciano was easy to hit. Watch the fights and you will see it was not the case. Holmes would not win this fight by jabbing Rocky silly. No chance. Rocky with his low crouch and smart defense would make the Holmes jab a non issue or much less an issue. No chance this fight is a cake walk. Ali felt he would have it very tough fighting Rocky. Holmes would be in for the fight of his life.

I think Marciano is all wrong for Holmes to be honest.

Holmes doesn't really have the mobility to stay away from Marciano, or the firepower to keep him off.

This for me suggests that Marciano probably makes it 50 and 0 here.

I would have to go for a Holmes win by a hard won UD. The "Brockton Blockbuster" would be no pushover for any fighter.

the narrowest of wins for holmes, he would sit behind that jab for most of the fight to build up plenty of points to eclipse rock's largely wild lunges, but would suffer at least 1 knockdown when the ever effervescent Marciano caught up with him with some midriff combos. Thus we would witness a horrible muggy fight full of holmes amd Marciano's best fouls and skulduggery.

Marcianos face would, in any event, be ripped to shreds, because he wouldn't stop coming forward.

Marciano might be the smaller man here, but he is ultimately the one carrying the big artillery, and it is Holmes who cannot afford to stand his ground.

Holmes is the better boxer here and has the stylistic advantage.

Whenever Rocky got in close he would rip him with uppercuts and overhand rights. For the most part he would keep Rocky at range and ultimately take a wide points decision.

There is no way that he is keeping rocky at range.

If that is his plan, then he has lost before the fight has started.

    Completely disagree mate.

Rocky could have fought his entire career in the CW division. Having a genuine HW with the best jab in history is a pretty good deterrent.

Rocky will walk into that jab all night long.

Won't happen. No chance anyone including Ali controls Marciano with a jab. Marciano is wayyyyy underrated concerning defense. No one in the ring found him easy to hit. Ali did not feel confident he could beat Rocky. "Just playing in the ring and at the end of the day I could not raise my arms". Maybe he would win one and I would win one".

I couldn't imagine anyone controlling Hearns with a jab either but I'd pick Holmes to do the job.
