Agreed, except Tate, Dokes And Coetzee could not get past many solid contenders anyway.

My feeling exactly. Larry's one of the very few heavyweight s that could beat most style s and look dominate doing it.
There s very few I pick against him at his best.
If he was around today only Fury proves a problem imo.

Good one there. I also think Ron Stander would have beaten Liston as well.

Don't forget Alfredo Evangelista. George Foreman could never beat Foreman though.

I’m trying to figure out who you’re referring to.

Duane Bobick wasn’t, IMO, a particularly tough fighter.

Doug Demmings, a middleweight, was a good gatekeeper type and probably a tough guy.

Apart from these guys and LeDoux, who else are you thinking of?

Tyson Fury would get made to look like a stumble-bum in 9 rounds against Holmes. He'd irritate the living yee-haw out of Larry in the early to mid rounds because of his jab (plus Holmes never liked fighters taller than him). But Larry's overhand right would eventually have him blubbering in the corner, ripe for stoppage. Maybe 10 rounds.

Weaver was considered a no=hoper when he fought Holmes. That fight showed Weaver was much better than everyone, including Larry, thought. He had improved since struggling with Jones, Bobick etc

Tate , Weaver and Holmes were clearly the best in 1980 and it would have been a good fight between Holmes and Tate or later a rematch between Holmes and Weaver if they had fought a unification.

Look at that photo. Larry sure had a bad habit of dropping that right hand. Scott couldnt punch though so no damage done. But against Shavers, Snipes, Witherspoon and ultimately Tyson it was a liability

Only Holmes, Foreman, Marvis Frazier and probably Mike Tyson beats Ledoux at his very best.
