LOL....you are right but Frazier did not look human...he was shorter than a lot of the guys but he looked like the hulk, thick head, Neck...unhumanly square......shotgun material or a pistol of a higher calibur 9MM and up and I would like at least 10 bullets in the chamber...knowing something about his style...it would be like being chased by a mean, wild Rhino with a hell of a HOOK

Only seen Frazier close up once ,it was either at the Albert hall or Wembley Arena ,can't remember which ,he had a nice dark suit on ,very smart, but he looked, a very formidable man ,broad ,big shoulders ,head and neck, bulging biceps through his jacket.I think he was in a good mood ,but I would not want him coming my way if he wasn't!

A prime Frazier takes it, probably TKO around the 10th

Prime Frazier grinds oi out for a decision. Larry Holmes is great but there are paralells to his style with Ali that are not as good. Frazier is fast, relentless, powerful and can take punches from Holmes and still come forward. Holmes will have trouble with his pressure and lose a close decision.

Holmes also has his own subtle differences which bode ok for him here. For a start it will be absolute peak Holmes here. Secondly his right hand was a bit heavier than Ali's and often thrown with more serious intention. His jab and movement would also be better utilised than the Ali that fought Frazier. Holmes has the power to drop Frazier at some point and he is a good finisher too. It's not impossible Holmes could post his own stoppage.

Great fight this one, it would be fight of the year type match IMO.

    Agreed.

And the thing with anyone that ever met Frazier was the thought that somebody out there uterally destroyed him and bounced him all over the ring. I did not think it was humanly possible to do that to Smoking Joe. And it's still hard to fathom to this day. Like you said, it looked like it'd take multiple gunshots to stop the guy.

I actually met Joe Frazier and shook his hand one night at Los Angeles International Airport, where I was working at the time. He was standing outside one of the terminals with his son Marvis and referree Mills Lane; I actually shook Mills' hand as well. I wish I had a camera, or at least a camera phone, at the time. I think this was in/or around the year 2000. Marvis Frazier at the time appeared pretty big to me - bigger than I thought he was. Mills Lane was tiny - real thin but lean! He had a firm handshake, but he was just like he appears on t.v - real direct, and intense(but friendly). All three guys were getting picked up in a limousine and going to who knows where. Joe Frazier was really nice; he shook my hand and called me "young man"; I told him that I had bought his book and liked it. He told me he was planning on writing another one. H was in a jovial mood, and he said that he planned on "getting wild like Kareem" - whatever the hell that meant! haha He was a pretty formidable presence; I'm exactly 5'9 1/2" and Joe was about an inch taller than me, but he was strong and stout-looking. But his son Marvis looked pretty big and strong - he must have grown or bulked up after he retired from boxing.

Frazier and Snipes were similar indeed, but with opposite weapons....... Frazier's Left hook and Snipes' right hand was their best stuff....... Holmes beats Frazier by late TKO.... Cheers....

NO! NO!! NO!!! Renaldo Snipes did try to swarm and maul Larry Holmes in 1981 much like Joe Frazier would have gone after Holmes in a fight.... Snipes did not have the bob & weave technique down like Frazier, but Snipes applied a good amount of pressure early on to Larry Holmes..... Snipes only won 2 or 3 rds against Larry Holmes at best in Pittsburgh, but Snipes was game and strong throughout the 11 rds fought...... Larry Holmes knew he was in a fight after he TKO'd Snipes in round 11...:bbb:deal

Larry Holmes was NEVER a sucker for a left hook.... The hook shot was Frazier's bread and butter punch... At 5' 11" and a solid 209 pounds when in proper shape, Joe Frazier would eat Holmes' jab and right crosses left and right....... Holmes was also slightly more powerful with his power than Ali was, so Holmes' shots would indeed have a harsh effect on Joe Frazier.... I see Holmes scoring a TKO over Frazier late.........:hat

Ali, Holmes and Foreman take perhaps the BEST shots of all-time in the heavyweight division... I'll include Rocky Marciano as well, however, that's based on his competition and size of his opponents at heavyweight....

Foreman was EXHAUSTED when he fell from Ali and Jimmy Young, and Holmes was rusty and stale when he got nailed by a fired-up Mike Tyson in 1988.... The shots that Holmes took from Tyson in round 4 would KO just about anybody at that time...... Ali still owns the best chin of all-time....... Ali was NEVER truly Parked for the count of 10 in a fight....
