Larry Holmes jab was one of the greatest weapons ever seen in the division.
That jab allowed him to compete well into his forties.
Spinks had a pretty successful venture into the heavyweight ranks and lets not forget Holmes won the rematch only to get robbed.
Usyk has never met a heavyweight like Holmes.
Sorry but Fury is not close to a Holmes.

I am sorry, but this is the myth. The reality is that his acknoweldged best win is almost 35 year old Ken Norton, followed by a very talented by inconsistent Tim Witherspoon.

After that his a career of dodging the best, failing to unify, and struggling mightily against guys like Shavers, Snipes, and Weaver, who, let's be real, weren't that good.

Finally, he was beaten by a LHW. I guess we can forgive the Tyson humiliation.

Even his competing well into his 40s consisted of beating a man in Mercer, who lost to Jesse Ferguson and only got an SD against Ossie Occosio.

Don't get it twisted, here. Holmes was a great, but there is NOTHING WHATSOEVER in his bag of accomplishments that puts him out of range of Usyk, and by the way, the southpaw stance largely takes away the jab.

Correct me if im wrong but I thought the Coetzee fight was scrapped due to money and promoter issues behind the scenes, there were posters and everything. His career seemed to be money oriented rather than cherrypicking based on styles

He abandoned a title rather than defend against Page, openly said he had no interest in Thomas, and failed in general to unify. It is what it is.

Klitschko is consensus top 10 and Usyk bullied him in sparring. Holmes is top 10 just like Wlad due to longevity.

And Holmes struggled with Renaldo Snipes, Mike Weaver, Carl Williams and Ernie Shavers.

That sparring was in early 2016, so he was barely a few months older than when Fury fought him. Since Fury's claim to fame largely stems from beating Wlad, we can't have it both ways. Either Fury beat a washed-up old Wlad in the most boring title fight known to mankind, or Usyk slapped a still sharp Wlad around in sparring. Also, it's worth noting that Usyk was still a 200 lbs cruiserweight back then, so Wlad had well over 40 lbs on him.

I don't rate Larry. His style was so boring. Sat in the middle in a weak era between Ali and Tyson.

    Usyk would woop him imo

People give Fury **** for him beating a 39 year old Waldo, but he was miles better than Larry's win over Ali at 38. He was truly shot to bits.
