I don't know if that cut does have anything to do with Lewis' incredible power. I think it was more likely the fact that Lewis had a rapier for jab.
Holmes, who has a better, not heavier, but faster jab would have cut Vitali to pieces the way Sonny hospitalised Wepner's face

No they were all relevant. As a matter of fact the most dangerous cut Vitali had was the one on the eyelid which was not caused by Lewis's glancing blow. That punch caused the cut on the eyebrow. All the cuts together likely caused concern. Lewis pounded his face open

The ones in the cheekbone were not affecting Vitali that much, it was the one over the eyelid that was the problem.

Thats what i mean. The one on or right over the eyelid. The cut that was caused by Lewis in the first seconds of round 3 was the one on the eyebrow, that one was above the eyelid cut

Vitali by dec. Vitali was always up on the cards. Holmes barely got by Williams and Witherspoon, lost rounds to some others, and eventually lost to Spinks.

    Bad matchup for Holmes.

Holmes wins - by decision (quite routinely). Although, a Holmes TKO victory is not out of the question.

I like Larry in this by decision. Vitali gives him something to think about though. I reckon Holmes is top 5 all-time at heavyweight and he beat better opposition than Vitali did. He beat Ray Mercer better than Lennox Lewis did.

Who is the best boxer Vitali faced? Lennox Lewis!

Ain’t no one knocking out Vitali. Only way anyone stops him inside the distance is by injury.

He didn't outbox almost 40 years old Lewis, thanks for the answer.

He was “always up on the cards.” That’s better than losing to a light heavyweight without injury.

Again, it's easy to be up on the cards when you don't fight good boxers, but mostly stationary sluggers. Lewis didn't try to outbox Vitali either, it was ugly slugfest that had nothing to do with outboxing opponent. Saying that Vitali outboxed Lewis in this fight is like saying that Max Baer outboxed his opponents - technically it's true, but it was close fight and neither fighter tried to outbox the other one.
