    1) Larry by KO after seven or eight

    2) Holmes exhausts him and stops him late, but maybe has to get up or gets rocked by the bionic right

    3) Toughest of the lot stylistically, but the Easton Assassin shows more versatility and makes Greg fight off the back foot, takes the play away, wins the championship rounds for a UD, about 10-5

    4) Dokes has the speed but not the power nor determination. Holmes by wide UD.

    5) Oh to see these two swordfight with those jabs. But Larry also had a right hand and was good at dropping the thumping body shot here and there. It’s even after eight or nine and then Larry walks away with it.

    Good topic.

    Prime for Prime

John Tate had a very good and fast left hand, but (like Page), Larry does practically everything he does better. John would get floored and stopped in 12.

Gerrie Coetzee- Coetzee would land a couple of briefly staggering shots, but Holmes would pick at him until a stoppage in 11.

Greg Page- Page, like Thomas, would irritate Larry more than a little in the early rounds, and Greg might even rock Larry some in the middle. But ultimately Holmes outclasses him, does everything he does better. Page is swollen up pretty bad at the end, losing a UD 12 or 15 by five or six points on at least one judge's card.

Michael Dokes- I don't see Michael making it 10 rounds against Larry on his best day, he was just plain never that good. He might be cute for a couple of rounds...might even win 2. Though Larry certainly wasn't a knockout king, the right hand would start getting to Dokes in the middle rounds, and he'd end up trapped in the corner as the avalanche begins.

Pinklon Thomas- Thomas would give Larry the best fight, and perplex him (Larry didn't like guys as big as him or bigger with a really good jab). So, in 12 rounds I give Pinky 4 out of the first 8, with people beginning to cheery Thomas coming out for the 9th. But that's where he starts to fail, as Holmes gets to landing the right more and beating Pinky to the punch, expertly tying him up when Thomas eventually begins to try loading up with his right hand. Another 12 UD for Larry, but by no more than three points on any judge's scorecard. If the fight goes 15 Thomas starts getting knocked around bad in the last rounds, though he never gets dropped he's staggering bad. Still, I see a UD or possible 14th round stoppage, as Pinky would be taking a lot of shots by then. Wouldn't get knocked down, though.

In his prime he beats all of those men.
