top 5 goat heavyweights in his prime? :deal -almost tied marcianos unbeaten championship streak. -one of the fastest literally as his nickname says "piston" like jabs in the history of any division. -amazing championship mentally in that ring. he really believed he could beat any fighter put in front of him. -tough. any arguments?
You shouldn't get many. I always really liked Holmes and that great jab about 5 years younger and he would have took it to Tyson.
Great fighter. Pity he came along when he did. Would have been very interesting if he was in his prime at the same time as a prime Ali, Foreman, Frazier.
You missed out Tye fields from your top spot. His skill, speed and beautiful ring attire would dazzle those three clowns.
I have him at #8 all time. His competition was very weak and even then he did not fight some fighters. Very solid all around fighter though.
how can he be top 5 of all time? his comp level wasn't nearly high enough to know. although a great talent as evident by his ability to be competitive in his 40's in a good era, but where are the huge w's to justify a top 5 ranking. looks like he struggled with very good hw's (debatable win over witherspoon) losses to spinks (yes, he was past it but still active and wasn't shot). look what tyson did to some of his opponents (decimiation of berbick and spinks for example). i like larry but top 5 all time, come on.
