Roy is the worst commentator at HBO. I cringe 75% of the time he opens his mouth.

I dont get how some here say Jones is a bad commentator? He's really the only one of that group that knows what he's talking about. And he knows who's going to win and who's going to lose. And say what fighters need to do to win. Roy Jones knows his sh4t. Foreman was just flat out awful. Goerge gets owned easily by Larry mostly alot of times in which it's true. I still cant believe before the 10th round of the trinidad vs hopkins fight, goerge thought trinidad was going to win the fight by ko cause hopkins keep going on the ropes.

Roy Jones and Jim Lampley are the only to commentators who can not be replaced. Merchant and Foreman are ****. Max is pretty good for the most part I think.

I don't get all the hate for Max. He is one of the few commentators who will call it like it is, even if the HBO fighter isn't getting his way. Merchant is also on his way out. I can actually see HBO keeping a close on eye on him.

Agreed Larry is just too old.

If you think Max Kellerman over-sensationalizes everything you should watch ALL the UFC commentators they epitomize sensationalism at any and every single punch take-down kick you name it during a fight.

Kellerman may not be a boxer but he understands the sport well and does a decent job expressing the fight in my opinion.

Larry's best days are far behind him, but he's an institution. I don't the Kellerman hate; he genuinely loves the sport. If you don't think that's important, bring back Fran Charles and see where that gets you.

Max speaks on behalf of fighters rather than promoters, a nice balance to the otherwise promoter-friendly HBO. Truth to power.

He also will do fine with Larry. Max has experience as a No. 1 guy and a No. 2 guy, so going to No. 3 will be easy for him. I just hope he and Larry get into it over something.
