    Larry Merchant needs to retire!!

post-fight interview (Mosley knocks out Mayorga),,-after Shane mentioning all the big names Margarito and Cotto, Mechant proceeds to ask Shane if he wants Andre Berto.. are you kidding me with this!

even Shane couldn't believe Larry asked him that!! Shane paused, and had to think of a good answer for a second..

he's 37, and has already fought De La Hoya (twice), Winky (twice), Forrest (twice), Vargas (twice), Collazo,Mayorga, and there's some great welters out there or Shane to fight at this point- WILLIAMS, MARGARITO, CLOTTEY, MAYWEATHER (?)..and Merchant asks him about BERTO of all people..

Yeah, not to mention HBO was on massive hype line when it came to Berto. It only makes sense for Merchant to continue to push the Berto train by pushing a fight with Mosley to the foreground.

Shane's face was more a "I just struggled with Ricardo Mayorga, I don't know if I want to fight anymore and you ask ME about Berto? Jeez."

Regardless, Shane took it in stride and class, as always, acknowledging his under par performance.

    I don't understand why that's so insane.

Berto's not a big name, no, but he's in the mix and Shane is not really at the top of the heap at the moment..

Berto's no less of a name than Cotto, Margarito, Williams or Clottey were two years ago.

HBO would want that matchup. They know Berto would likely win at this stage and it would grown Andre Berto as an HBO commodity. Everybody's thinking like Bob Arum these days.. Even the networks.

Can you please edit this. Nobody wants to think like Mr. Slob Arum. We want to watch legitimate fights. Arum only thinks about his pockets, so in that sense...yeah, we do think like Arum as a matter of fact. :yep ;)

    clottey a great welter!!!!!!!!

berto is a more recognised champion and a bigger pay day for shane than clottey which is basically what shane is looking for at the end of his career

Shane is trying to get bigs fights at 147 and they're just not there for him. Meanwhile Berto fought on the same card and is holding a 147 belt.

    Makes sense to me.:hi:

What's wrong with that question?, Berto is a champion in the division and a part of it. Why would he be a bad option?

Williams looks to be negotiating with Clottey at this point, both Margarito and Cotto are already booked for fights next to setup a rematch mid next year. Mayweather is retired.

    Who else to mention?
