Everything. The same ilk that won't recognize an illegal shot in that situation are the same ilk that ignore multiple attempts and then a land of illegal headbutts.

Mayweather's burst wasn't infantile. It was a reaction prodded by Merchant's infantile questioning of a man awash in adrenaline.

If you don't see what was wrong? You are part of the problem.

There was no win last night. Boxing fans lost the biggest.

If anything that compulsive liar and cheat Ortiz won. Instead of being dominated he took the easy way out. After the left hook he STILL didn't protect himself.

The only winners where the Boxing Tabloid Fanboys. I think we want to see Boxing not antics.

    You are tired. Seriously.

If you feel you should be able to walk up to anyone, say what you want, then cry foul when your prodding gets a reaction?

It speaks a lot about you.

Larry Merchant is there as a member of the media, not to be the LAPDOG for the Pretty One. That job goes to Ellerbe.

I have no idea why Mayweather was so MAD??? He just knocked down a hungry young fighter and he GOT his EASY PAYDAY. Yay...

I proclaim Larry Merchant an ALL TIME GREAT!!! :thumbsup

Boxing fans didnt lose. I had fun watching one of the best boxers ever in Floyd fight. The way he boxes, straight rights, combos, defense is always great to see. thats what a pure boxer is. seeing Morales actually beat a young boxer like Cano in a war was great. and seeing Canelo trying to learn mayweatherss defense really put a smile on my face, hes bout to take it to the next level. so speak for yourself buddy

If you mean bein' a stand-up guy, I hope so, b

Larry didn't cry foul. He said, "If I was fifty years younger,I'd kick your ass" That sound like a wuss ta you?

As a fan of Mayweather I enjoyed the fight and the ending. I would have loved more to see Ortiz stopped less controversially, but I will take this. I can still acknowledge that other fans might have wanted to see something different and casual fans, who are the real lifeblood of Boxing may not understand this.

The undercard was great, but casual fans came for Mayweather/Ortiz.

You have no idea what you are talking about right now.

So that is a stand up guy? A man who will talk all that crap surrounded by security and hiding behind his geriatric age? Merchant is a low life.

My father told me that a real man never says anything to another man that he wouldn't say in a dark alley.

I see you were raised different.

    Yes, Bob Costas is professional.

There is a reason why Merchant and Grey aren't respected across the sports world.

Larry is the man. He is a boxing analyst and the best on the HBO crew. He's been covering boxing before Floyd was born. The man knows his stuff and he tells how it is. He asks tough questions that Kellerman and a lot of other guys will not. He is an actual fan. It seems like the only people upset at Merchant are Floyd Mayweather fans.

He has been **** talking and putting down fighters ever since he started, he isn't a legend but a relic of a time that needs to be forgotten.

I completely see where you're coming from here, and I really can't disagree. But as long as Larry Merchant's around, he's a credit, as a journalist, to that boxing we love to see.
