Larry Merchant -Just how does he keep his job?

Merchant is off putting to a lot of people, but at least he's somewhat "real" - if only to a small degree, whereas Max Kellerman......no explanation required, I hope. One of the phoniest people on TV.

 

Lionel Rose is a successful troll. 10/10 Lionel .

He's easily the best on the team, Kellerman is a flat out idiot-he knows nothing so he should keep it to himself. Lampley just orgasms every time a punch is missed, he's not on the ****ing radio so he should shut the hell up until there's something worth saying and he always plays the paty line. Merchant has opinions and sticls to them and he actually knows something about boxing. Tried and tested.

 

Lennox is awful. I'd rather listen to Golota stutter. George was great though.

 

I like Merchant. How fans associate him with Floyd is God awfully funny. Merchant has been a dick long before he did any of Floyd's fights, but he is a good commentator. Pac fans like Merchant because of what he said during the Floyd-Baldy fight lol... All Merchant has to do is diss PAc, and you'll want Merchant out of boxing lol... Bandwagon fans lol...

 

Merchant is the only good thing about HBO.

 

You fool, the Max Kellermans of the world are a dime a dozen. Boxing is seriously lacking in journalism and commentating talent. When we lose Merchant we lose one of the pivotal forces in boxing of the past several decades.

A lot of guys can call the punches and rattle off statistics, but very few know or understand the sport so intimately. Merchant may not always be right, but he understands the significance of what's going on in and outside of the ring and he knows how to communicate it to you with eloquence.

But maybe you're right - maybe we're better off with a guy like Max Kellerman who will suck dick in the ring and let a fighter say anything mostly unchallenged.

 

I love Larry hes funny and doesnt care what he says. i love it especially when he talks to pbf its hilarious.

 

Larry is a legend. I love how honest he is with PBF.
I love his reaction when someone during the Baldomir fight told Larry that PBF considers himself on the level of Robinson. IT is priceless "WHAT!?!?!?"
