I cant get away from the feeling that Merchant beeing white is part of the problem for Floyd fans. Merchant, most of the time, ask relevant questions fans likes to here. But since he is white he must be a racist, right?

But even with this said, I failed to understand what he was doing during the post fight interviews. Floyd had done nothing wrong during the fight, and answered the questions calmly in the beginning. But Merchant kept harping on.

he wasnt harping on it. he asked him a question and Floyd overreacted.

BEFORE and AFTER the interview he was praising Floyd's performance. It was Lampley who made more of a condemnation

    Probably several reasons:

1: Ortiz was not there. He's interviewing Floyd, so he raises the issue that matters most with that fighter.

2: A spur of the moment thing. I initially thought it was a nasty move by Floyd as well. Only upon re-watching the whole fight & thinking about it did I come to realize that Floyd was 100% justified. Merchant probably NOW feels the same way, too.

3: Larry is paid to add color commentary. It's his JOB to dig into things. Not so easy to do that & also remain objective, in real time & in front of the cameras. Try it sometime!

4: Larry probably doesn't like Floyd. Big deal, neither do I. Floyd's a total jerk. Larry isn't allowed to have personal feelings? If people jump on Floyd a little harder than he deserves, well he DOES deserve it.

    ## 5: Here we are, talking about it. That means Larry did a great job!
