The blatant bias and disrespect he showed last night was totally unnecessary and unprofessional!! Throughout last night he either took his time on the mic to downplay Floyd's accomplishments and the clinic he was putting on in the ring or for most of the fight sat in his chair in utter silence from what he was witnessing. He is under the impression that boxing should be primarily a "Gentlemens sport" where all trash talk and cockiness should be banned, but let's be totally honest for a moment. Mayweather IS an asset to the sport. The attention and buzz he brings only helps it to grow and Merchant's old ass needs to understand this and end his agenda. Based on his act last night I am petitioning for HBO to end this old hags contract and send him into oblivion. It's been too many events where his bias and smart ass remarks have swayed watching public into taking a bad account of our sport.

I'm normally a big Merchant fan, but I didn't like the way he was talking to BOTH Mosley and Floyd in the post-fight interviews, and he bafflingly said that Floyd wasn't hurt when he clearly was in the second round. Maybe just an off night?

Floyd didn't even deny being hurt. He said it comes with the terroritory and you gotta fight back like a warrior, which he did.

Larry Merchant has zero professionalism. Lampley looked like he was embarrassed by Merchant's behavior. He was the only guy giving Floyd his props. Merchant and Steward were acting like bitter haters. They both have been doing this for years. Merchant trashed Berto in his fight with Quintana, he always trashes Mayweather, and he always trashes Hopkins. How can anyone respect Merchant's opinion anymore? Steward was critical as well, but at least he was properly calling the action and maintained at least some objectivity.

Perhaps he hit the bottle before the fight? I don't know, he was a dick though.

I think he is still traumatized from the Mayweather-Marquez fight.

Larry calls it as he sees it and the only reason he is STILL around is because the public wanted him in.

ill take Larry over ****ing Kellerman anyday.

I don't think he trashed Berto at all. Seemed to me like he likes Berto.
