Larry has been an embarrassment for years. Hbo displays terrible judgment giving this goon a platform. He runs down every event while its happening, making the audience feel like fools for forking over money to watch the event. I'm tired of hearing these old assholes run down the modern era all the time implying that in 1950 there were 30 guys in each weight division that would stomp the **** out of modern champions. Every era has its highs and lows but fools like Merchant have been sucking the life out the sport for about twenty years. He was already a hater when Suger Ray and Hearns were lighting it up and I would wager he didn't realize how great that era was until it was over. Being old and credible are not the same thing.
