Larry definitely is biased against Mayweather. He's been making snide remarks about him for over a decade. It's the same with Hopkins. Did anyone see before the Hopkins/Pascal II where Larry Merchant was doing a monologue on Hopkins? I'm guessing the piece was meant to praise Hopkins as a fighter, yet Merchant couldn't help but take subtle shots at him. This fued between Merchant and Mayweather has been brewing for years. There are a bunch of fighters were probably smiling from ear to ear when Mayweather cursed Merchant out.
It's fair to say Larry isn't a fan of Mayweather. Mayweather has a bunch of yes men around him and he's not used to answering questions he doesn't want to. It's very simple to see why Larry isn't a fan of him. Mayweather isn't very cooperative in interviews and he's pretty much an *******.
Larry Merchant is representative of how any unqualified albino can get a high paying job without knowing **** about the topic. Others like him, revere him. Those with skills and have to earn a living with their skills hate this American symbol of privilege. This goes for that fat, no talented slob, Liderman too. This **** goes all the way back to old ass Sugarmen.
So, boxing fans should never question an athlete for a controversial or shitty performance? Yeah, okay guys!
Yeah, to guys who put themselves in that position. Namely smack talking **** heads like Flolyd and Hops.
Larry asked Floyd valid questions and didnt do anything wrong in my opinion. I am no fan of Merchant but I dont think he did anything wrong in asking Floyd about what happend. If there was nothing wrong with him asking the questions why did Floyd get aggitated and try not to answer. When Merchant made the comment about being younger I felt he was being almost as silly as Floyd, but at least he didnt swear
