    Sad to hear.
    Seems like Larry's been around in boxing forever.
    Not sure if it's correct but apparently Larry can be seen in the crowd footage at Ali v Liston 2.

    I always liked listening to him, far better than those who have followed him.
    he must be getting up there, in his 80s I'd suspect, God speed for recovery & his mercy.

    92 is fair age but of course let’s hope he can pull through with some quality life ahead of him.

    If you see the famous pic of Ali standing over Liston yelling " Get up you Bum" look between Ali's legs the guy you see was indeed the great Larry Merchant. Get well soon Larry one of boxing Legends

    Glad Larry is OK.

    However I wonder what could possibly be considered a "minor situation" when somebody is 92 years old ... breaking a fingernail?

    Idk. Sometimes the elderly are paranoid about having strokes and heart attacks but are just having weird symptoms because they’re old. Or maybe he took a fall.

    Larry Merchant is like a debutante with a knife in her purse and I always loved him for it. I hope he's been having some real life to live since last I saw him out there. That's what you hope for when you're in your nineties. Not so much that you prolong life, but that you have a life where you're still doing things you want to do.
