this was a great fight. the fact that you think kelly is overrated or a joke is irrelevant here. any fight fan knows this was a great fight. these boys went at it. edison fought his heart out and he landed some bombs.

i'll be the first to admit that myself and others make it easy to rip kelly but this was an awesome fight.

can't go against anything you just said. all i know is that kelly is crucified on here and there was a point where he was an awesome fighter. this was a great fight. edison knocked people out of the ring with the shots he was landing. kelly took those shots and just kept comin.

i pray he can find this form again. and when i say "form" i don't mean some slick boxer b/c we know that he aint it. i just mean a decent fighter w/ the heart of a lion that will just keep coming.

pavlik/froch would be my ideal fight as a fan

but you could argue that the abraham fight gave edison the confidence he needed. he was very hyped going into the pavlik fight. in fact, kelly was supposed to get his title shot before miranda but HBO made him fight edison.

taylor/miranda is what HBO wanted and HBO thought that edison knocking out this pasty white hype would make an awesome card for taylor......but it was not to be.

this was a foty quality and both men laid it on the line.

class from both fighters.

 

martinez would give kelly fits no matter what.

i completely underestimated sergio at 160. i really did. that was my bad. no excuses. but kelly at his 160 prime was a pain in the ass for anyone. the man would just no stop. this fight is a prime example of a guy who just wont stop. look at those bombs edison was landing
