Counting Pavlik Miranda fought 3 consecutive fights on HBO, and 4 top 10 middleweights in 8 months. Those 4 fighters had a combined record of 134-4 with 111 KO's. Thats a 97% win rate with a KO ratio of 83%. It is not surprising that Miranda was a 2:1 favorite.

It is surprising that people dismiss him like he was a nobody. Hopkins, who always hated Taylor, picked Miranda to beat both Kelly and Jermain, and told the whole world he would be proud to pass his middleweight mantle on to Edison. In a sense those who blow Miranda off are in opposition to one of the best boxing minds in history.

 

I honestly thought that was the end of the road for KP. After that performance, I knew we had something special.:!:

seriously tho... miranda lost to EVERY decent fighter he ever fought and lost to him badly... pavlik didn't do anything special... he pavlik beat his ass and the rest of his losses were close I would agree... but all these other guys whipped miranda as bad or worse

Facts are facts, and the simple fact is that Father Time kicked McKart's ass before Kelly did. However, that was still the fight that told me Pav could beat Taylor. I'll never forget Bronco in the post fight interview, after suffering his first ever KO loss, "It's not that he hits ya that hard. It's just that everything he lands has somethin' on it!"
