Easy on paper, but harder in reality.

The Maidana fight surprised a lot of people after Floyd had cruised past Canelo.

Floyd would’ve treated Margarito like a piñata. Any talk of Margarito having a chance is delusional.

This is just another fight that would’ve been made if Margarito left Arum. Floyd didn’t fight Arum fighters.

I heard the exact same thing when he fought Maidana. And Maidana was significantly smaller than Marg.

Many people on here said that Maidana was a B level fighter who wouldn’t win a single round. And this was coming off of Floyd’s masterclass against Canelo.

Floyd was levels above Marg. But Marg would have had zero respect for Floyd’s power and driven forward at him at every opportunity. And he was taller with an equal reach, and he was stronger, much more powerful and very aggressive.

That would have been a hard nights work for Floyd.

You’d have had to have favoured Floyd big. But it wouldn’t have been as easy as what most people think.

You're assuming like the people you've mentioned. No one knew Maidana would dramatically improved his game. We don't have a clue whether Margarito would rise up to the challenge or stay complacent.

Margarito could bust up. An injury stoppage is well within the realm of possibility.

We know that Marg wouldn’t have stood back and respected him.

    I’m certain of that.

I’d definitely have backed Floyd for sure. But I don’t think it would have been a walk in the park.

Floyd was 37 or 38 for Maidana. We’re talking about Floyd in his prime here, but since he was one of the best ever a lot of people can’t understand how much better he was in his early thirties.

Also, there’s no guarantee that Maidana under Garcia was worse than Margarito. He was much craftier and less robotic, and never would’ve gotten shellacked by an aging Shane.

God Margarito has become bigger then he was when he was active here, his legend overshadows his mediocre ability.

That’s true. We’re talking about 2008 and not 2014. But personally, I think Maidana would have troubled him at any time. It’s just how they matched up stylistically. Maidana’s crude at times, but he’s relentless. He doesn’t let you breath. He had zero respect for Floyd and just went at him. He was just a troublesome opponent. Again, this was against a version of Floyd who had just looked incredible against Canelo.

I think Marg had similarities to Maidana. Technically, Floyd was levels above him. Everybody knows that. But I think he’d have just driven forward at every opportunity where he’d have been happy to take 3-4 shots to land 1. A guy that big and that aggressive with no respect for you, is a hard nights work. I’m certain that Floyd would have won. But I’m also certain that it wouldn’t have been a breeze for him.

ROFLMAO We did sit & watch that BS tape. Hell if Mayweather ever showed half that aggression even I may have supported him myself.
Where was the running , the holding. Where was ref, I take it that was supposed to be Bayless, there was not one Bayless STOP, BREAK
every time Floyd took a shot LOL
PimpC & co call that tape Arum of Tony confronting Floyd EDITED !!! Man this was LUDICROUS. Ive seen 3 different videos of the confrontation & talked to a few people who were there & all agreed Floyd was hysterical completely lost control of his mind & body he embarrassed himself BADLY!!
Anyway we ALL KNOW floyd would NEVER EVER have got in the ring with Tony Floyd just plain Couldnt FIGHT!! like that. Tony would have walked him down & COTTOed him.
Another funny bit was all 3 judges scored identical ROFL Ive no doubt Pimp,Aussie 22JM etc will love it
